2. Choose Your Package

Choose a package and extras

Hmmmm yes, work out how many stems you have (if you're not sure you can email us and we'll work it out together).

Then decide if you'll be needing any extras . These are:

Vocal Tuning (incl on Premium and Mega)

Sensitive Melodyne tuning to make you vocal subtly perfect or brutal T-pain style autotune from antares themselves. You decide!

Timing Editing (incl. on Mega)

Have pesky live instruments that could be tighter? Drums? Maybe some guitar or a stack of vocals? This extra is for you... BEND THEM TO YOUR WILL!

Special Sauce

With some extra special sauce (additional production) your track will have everything the body needs. Think sweeps, some extra drums, maybe a synth. Whatever it needs to 'get it there'

Extra Live Instruments

Need some extra Guitar? Piano? Bass? We'll get that played in for you.

Live Drums

Getting busy with the groove? We can get a live studio drummer to record that programmed beat you made.

3. Vision, References and Communication

Lets get to know each other

Ok, you've done the hard bit and committed. Now its time to get to know one another good and proper. Tell us what you need, where you see the track ending up and any song references you might have.

Reference songs are awesome! Please give us references.

Pointing to an already mixed track and saying, 'I want the drums like this' is much easier than making noises with your mouth and banging the table with a spoon. Having said that, our engineers are specially trained to understand phrases such as but not limited to:

'sort-of boom'

'something woobly'

'a squishy bass'

'kind of meow sound'

However you want to communicate, well make it work.

4. Begin Mixing/Mastering

Communication, expectations, and results

The key thing to remember is that communication is key to getting good results. So once we've had a chat, you'll be invited to send your stems.

When mixing, what we want to do is take what youve been vibing to  and make it better. So if you have panning, automation or any super cool effects already set up. Leave them on. We can always ask for a specific stem to be dry later.

Format

Wav 16/24bit

44.1khz or 48khz

Include Volume and Pan information

Include overload protection if available.

If you work in Logic or Garage Band, get in touch, you may be able to send that instead of stems!

5. Revisions

Get things perfect

Once the song is delivered, give it a listen and then lets make it perfect. Revisions are on the house, no limits.

6. Final Ok

Stems, Versions, Final Ok

Once you've settled on a final mix, we'll get the stems and any versions you might need over to you.

Your files will never be intentionally deleted. Computer memory is cheap, so unless something goes horribly wrong. You will always have a version of your files stored safely on our system (and backed up in the cloud).

A mix of analogue and digital processing

Why Analogue?

It just sounds great. its like adding thick velvety chocolate sauce on top of the cake you've made. Our main studio equipment?

A matched stereo pair of API 550b EQs (think Airy Highs and Pumping lows)

SSL 500series Bus Compressor (think smoothing over the each track like making shapes in mash potato)

Focusrite 430mkii (The vocal chain with 10 billion streams. For your vocals)

UAD Preamps (think adding that "je-ne-sais-qoi")

UAD Analogue Modelling (we run everything through the Studer A800 tape machine for its expensive sounding harmonics. Yum)

What Digital?

We work within Logic X, using the latest in analogue modelling from Universal Audio, supplemented by digital processing modules from Sound Toys, Izotope, Waves, Melodyne and many more. This provides precision audio mixing tools to make the mix pop!
